CCS/CC3200-LAUNCHXL: Error importing project. Location cannot be resolved

Part Number: CC3200-LAUNCHXL
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3200

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

I'm new user of  CC3200-LAUNCHXL board and have encountered problem during project importing fundamental workshop provided on http://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/training/workshop/ccsv6/cc3200/sdoapps_ws_cc3200_ccsv6_fundamentals-workshop-labs.pptx .

I'm trying to import to CCS  "Hello Example" from Resource Explorer.
Could anyone provide working solution? I have tried to do it  many ways, import CCS project etc.

Thanks in advance,
Rafal

Code Composer Studio  Version: 6.2.0.00050

  • Rafal,

I see that you are using CCS 6.2. This is an old version and had a few issues related to Resource Explorer which were fixed in later versions. If you don't have a reason to stick with that version, would you mind trying out the latest CCS 7.4? In latest CCS, TI-RTOS for CC3200 is not available in Resource Explorer, but you can still download and install it from the TI-RTOS download page

  • Hi,

I suspect you are in macOS, is that so? If so, there used to be an issue between the older (CCSv6.2) and the newer (CCSv7.x) versions of the TI Resource Explorer. Some details are shown at the thread below if you are interested.
    e2e.ti.com/.../580470

The version you have downloads the package at /home/Users/<user>/ti/tirex-content instead of /home/Users/<user>/ti

Therefore, testing it here I got the same error as you, but I then closed CCS and moved the entire ti-rtos directory to the /home/Users/<user>/ti and then everything started to work fine after I restarted CCS and added the TI-RTOS package at the Product Discovery splash screen.

Ideally you should move to a newer release of CCS, but that can help you move forward with the current existing environment.

Please note that nothing grants this will keep working after the releases we have nowadays - after all, the SDK packages are being created to accommodate the requirements of the newer releases of the TI Resource Explorer.

    Hope this helps,
    Rafael
