Aligning input sections with linker

Is it possible to instruct linker to align individual input sections with wild cards? For instance, in following segment

.out_scn: palign(32)

{

*(.in_scn_a*)

*(in_scn_b*)

} > MEMORY

is the a way to make sure that all input sections that match wild cards are aligned to a specific byte boundary between themselves? palign or align only aligns output section.

I don't think this is possible within the linker command file. Well, I haven't thought of way to do it yet.

It is better to arrange such alignment when the sections are created in the assembler. The .align directive should do what you want.

This is my understanding as well. Hoped that there might be a way to align through linker as it is COTS.
