Install Problem with CCS4 and TMS320C6472 Eval Module

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6472

I've recently purchased/received the TMS320C6472 Evaluation Module.  It came with a DVD of code composer studio v4.1.2, which I had trouble when installing from the DVD.

During the installation process, I chose a custom install and selected "only provide code for C6000 devices".  Towards the end of the install I got an error that said the installer couldn't make a backup copy evmc6472.bat.  It was trying to make this backup on the DVD drive.  I had to move the entire installation folder from the DVD drive to the C: drive and run it from there.  It installed without complaint from the C drive.

Now I'm new to CCS, and I'm not certain that the DVD that came with the eval module is the "out of the box" version of CCS, because the DVD appears to have software specific to the eval module.  So perhaps this problem will affect very few, but I thought I'd mention it.

  • Dan,

Thank you for reporting this. As you said, the version that comes with boards usually has additional files (example codes, support files documents, etc.) that are specific to the board - the file <evmc6472.bat> is an example: it is not part of the standard CCS distribution and therefore its installer was probably included by eInfochips.

Therefore I suggest you to also send this report to them and see if they are able to investigate this further.

    Thank you again,

    Rafael
