CCS/TMS320F28069: Watch variables section of code composer disabled

HI, I am having issues with Code Composer 7.3.

When I am trying to debug the code using a XDS100, the variables sections is disbaled and I cannot add a new one or read the status.... it is basically disabled:

This used to happen evry now and then and the solution was to restart code composer...but now it is always disabled...

Any ideas on how to fix this?

In the capture I can see that the 28x core is running. The Variables view automatically shows local variables that are in scope. It will be blank while the application is running. If you are looking to watch specific variables you can open the Expressions view. In this view you specify what you want to watch.

No problem. The names of the views are funny. Sometimes I close the variables view and just leave the expressions view open.
