Anyone else seeing this 'hover' issue: (and I didn't think I was really 'hovering' either...)

Hi John,
Are you using CCS v8? Looks like a known issue with the CDT version that comes with v8:
bugs.eclipse.org/.../show_bug.cgi

After some more digging, this issue may have existed in earlier CDT versions. What is in the Details when you press the button?

Ki,

Since I've read your replies - I've tried to catch this again; but it seems to be intermittent.

I believe it said something was NULL when I clicked Details - but I haven't been able to catch this again; when I do; I will post.

ah, the vague (and rarely helpful) "java.lang.NullPointerException" message.

When investigating this error, some people mentioned that raising the max heap size helped to alleviate this issue. Can you open the ccstudio.ini file in <CCS8 INSTALL DIR>\ccsv8\eclipse and increase the max heap size to 1024m on line 22? Let me know if this helps

OK - it happened again. I was in the debugger; and was disabling a breakpoint - and it happened.

Based on the log, it does seem related to:
bugs.eclipse.org/.../show_bug.cgi
bugs.eclipse.org/.../show_bug.cgi

Do you see this more often when hovering over macro expressions?

In my last post with a pic - the xMessage that is highlighted is a pointer to a structure that looks like:

typedef struct HRCAP1_Queue
{

unsigned long int_HRC1pulsewidthlow0[5];
unsigned long frac_HRC1pulsewidthlow0[5];
unsigned long int_HRC1pulsewidthhigh0[5];
unsigned long frac_HRC1pulsewidthhigh0[5];

} HRCAP1Queue;

So, I can't really say it occurs more often when hovering over a macro expression.

I get this too with CCS Version: 8.0.0.00016, whenever the mouse is over a compiler switch
