CCS: How to get License file?

Hello

I am using CCS v5.3 with no problem. I always use free license option (in the image bellow) with no need of full feature of evaluating options.

Someone asks me a question about using a valid license. I really don't know why they didn't see that license option selecting page (the image above), because every time I have installed CCS, I have seen this page so I have selected third option. Related to the question, I 'd like to add to more image to show you the massage they see after they want to start working with CCS.

So let me simplify the matter in the order bellow:

1-How can anyone use free license option after he/she installed CCS and open it for the first time? Suppose that he/she did not see the related option while he/she was installing the CCS?

2-Is there anyway to getting CCS license for evaluating option?

3-Related to last image, I want the license to be emailed to me? What should I do?

Hello,
Anyone using CCSv7 or greater will not be prompted to choose a license option since the full option will be automatically enabled.

If you are using CCSv6 or earlier, you can option a full license file at the below link:
processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Category:Code_Composer_Studio_v7

Just because curiosity,
what was the reason to have CCS released in different options in the past, while its full option license is available now?

In the past, you had to purchase a license to unlock the full functionality of CCS. Since not everyone wanted to pay for a full license, we offered other limited licensing options at no cost. Starting with CCSv7, we decided to no longer charge for a full license. Hence there is no reason for all other limited licensing options and we just unlock full functionality be default. And for older CCS versions, we offered the full license file for download.

Good NEWS....

I downloaded the zipped license file, unzipped it and just like images bellow add new license file.

After adding new license, at ' License Information View' window, under 'Status' tab nothing has not been change. Is everything OK?

Does this license work for CCS v3.3 too?
Related to the link you have sent me, nothing is discussed about this version.
Is this true that CCS v3.3 is not free. I, myself don't think so, because you have mentioned that the full functionallity of CCS older versions after CCV v7 has been released, would be unlocked just by free license.

The free license model will apply to all CCS version with the exception of CCS versions that support 24x.

Also note that this license does not apply to CC version (without the "S"). This is the Code Composer line that predates Code Composer Studio (~20 years ago).

Otherwise it will work with CCSv3.3 and any other non-24x CCS.
