CCS/CODECOMPOSER: Cannot import to IDE from resource explorer

Part Number: CODECOMPOSER

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

I'm having a problem importing examples from resource explorer to my IDE. I already downloaded the package and installed, but it seems that the program doesn't detect it, even in the resource explorer classic (but there I can manually add the MSPWare). There is a way that I can manually add the necessary packages to work with resource explorer?

Already tried to reinstall the package, to remove "tirex-localserver-3.1.3" that I read in another post (but this folder doesn't exist for me).

I'm using Windows 10 x64, CCS v7.4.0.00015.

Thanks and regards,

Helder

  • UPDATE: TivaWare doesn't work also. I always used TivaWare in the resource explorer classic, so no problems for me there; as for the MSP, unfortunately the direct register access examples is accessible only in the online resource explorer.
  • Helder,

I have had issues in CCSv7.x with detecting packages that I have installed. Usually I can correct this by removing the tirex-localserver-3.1.3 folder from <user folder>/ti

    Exit CCS
    Remove the folder
    Start CCS
    Open ReX
You may have to select to download and install again but it should just fetch the metadata for the package.

    I haven't had this issue with CCSV8.0.

    Regards,
    John
  • Hi JohnS,

That solved the problem. Actually, I searched the wrong path for tirex-localserver before (c://ti), so when I found and delete the tirex folder, the next time I ran ReX it said "importing msp etc" and it worked.

Also, I've downloaded CCS v8.0 and confirmed that the issue is no longer present.

    Thanks!

P.S. There should be a way of knowing that there is a new version of CCS. Since CCS V6, I have to consult manually the site to see if a new version of Code Composer Studio is avaiable. The automatic updates only seeks the compilers' version I believe.
  • Helder,

The update manager within CCS will give notifications when minor updates are available (say 8.1, 8.2...) but not major releases.  There isn't really a good way to get an automatic notification on those.  We typically release them once a year around February.

    Regards,

    John
