Hi,

I just installed CCS6. It prompted me to update and it fails giving me the following message:

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed

I searched around the forums and tried closing CCS deleting the cache directories under org.eclipse.equinox.p2.core and org.eclipse.equinox.ps.repository.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Matt,

Are you just getting started with CCS? If so I would recommend starting with CCSv8 instead.

Hi John,

I am getting started with CCS. I downloaded v6 to have the ability to explore the full license. I would really like to get this working because it was a real pain to get v6 installed in the first place. CCS installer doesn't like when virus scanning is on. I had to have sysadmin at my company remote in and uninstall malware bytes, install CCS, and then reinstall malware bytes. Took a couple of hours.

Do you have any suggestions in getting v6 working or is this version now unsupported?

Matt,

I would ignore the prompts for updates. CCSv6 is very old and you are not going to be able to use the update manager to get to the latest anyway. Plus I bet your malware bytes settings are going to prevent the updates from working. The update manager has to contact the update sites, download the appropriate updates, execute them. If you had to remove it to install CCS then you will need to remove it to run updates as well as the process is very similar. Most security/AV software will allow you (or at least an admin) to temporarily disable them.

Hi John,

My company does not allow even users with admin privileges to disable Malwarebytes.

I'll put in a help desk ticket to let them know that Malwarebytes could be blocking CCS updates.

You can also disable the Automatic update check. Probably worth doing so it doesn't keep bugging you.

Hi John,

I'm waiting for security to meet with me this week and see if we can get CCS white listed. I'll report back when there's a resolution on my end. From what you say, the way our sysadmin/security dept has our machines protected there will always be issues with CCS no matter the version unless it's white listed.
