Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I just ran CCS8 for the first time, and got this warning from Windows Firewall:

It seems that CCS8 is using node.js for something. I'm more familiar with seeing node.js used in server-side applications, so was surprised to see it in a desktop application.

Does this component need access out to the internet? If so, what features will be unavailable if I don't allow access?

    Robert,

    We use node.js in some of our features like Resource Explorer and GUI Composer. Resource Explorer is a browser based application that shows all of the examples, documentation, training... for your selected device. It pulls this information from the cloud.
