Is my license installed correctly?

Hi, I have a problem with the license I assume.

Recently we bought 2x node-locked licenses, and I proptly activated one of the licenses and installed it on this PC. However, now I get the message:
output file "Product_Firmware.out" exceeds code size limit  Product_Firmware line 0 1286536624575 14843

Apparently the program still thinks it is running the old code size limited free license?
How do I verify that I am using the correct license?

The about screen says nothing about which license is used, like most other programs do:

 Code Composer Studio Core Edition

 Version: 4.1.3.00038

 (c) Copyright Texas Instruments, 2009. All rights reserved.
 Visit http://www.ti.com

I have specified TMDSCCS-MCUN01-v4.0 several times, just in case.

Thanks in advance. (:

Kind regards,
Bo

  • Bo,

The CCS download page says the following about the code size limited (Core) image:

"Can NOT be upgraded to a full (unlimited) license (use DVD image for full license)"

The Free code size limited edition contains a hard limitation on the linker, thus not allowing to be updated via the license file. In this case you will have to download the complete version, install the Microcontroller edition and activate it using your license file.

    Hope this helps,

    Rafael

  • Hello Rafael,

Thank you for your answer. I believe a pop-up stating what you just said, when trying to license the Core edition, would be in place to lessen the confusion for future users.

After all, it is several months after downloading CCS4 Core that I bought the license, and I believe that I am not alone in being someone who would forget such details after this large amount of time.

Thank you very much for your help Rafael. :-)
