CCS/TDA2EXEVM: Connection select in CCS target configuration

Part Number: TDA2EXEVM

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I just got a TDA2EX EVM board, and am trying to use CCS. When creating a new target configuration, what connection should I choose? In the VisionSDK User Guide, "Spectrum Digital XDS560V2 STM USB Emulator" was selected. But, I do not have that.

Thanks,

Wei

  • Hi Wei,

Do you have that debug probe? If so, then you would need to have the Spectrum Digital drivers installed. There is an option to install them when you first ran the CCS installer. It is not selected by default so you need to make sure you explicitly selected it. If you did not, you can rerun the installer over your existing CCS installation directory and the installer will then detect the existing install and allow you to add components you didn't install the first time. Through this technique, you can select the option to add the Spectrum Digital drivers.

    Thanks

  • Hi Ki,

Thanks for your quick response. The only board I have is the one in the picture below, which can be plugged into the 60p MIPI JTAG connector. Ids that the one you mentioned, Spectrum digital debug probes and board? If yes, how can it be connected to the host PC? On the processor board, there are couple of USB ports. Those USB ports can not be used for CCS?

    Thanks,

    Wei

  • Hi Wei,
The picture you attached is a JTAG adapter board and not a debug probe. The "Spectrum Digital XDS560V2 STM USB Emulator" is described in the linker below:
    www.spectrumdigital.com/.../

I don't think your EVM has on-board JTAG so you would need an external JTAG debug probe:
    dev.ti.com/.../

And attach it to the 60pin MIPI header (J17) on the EVM

    Thanks

I posted the wrong link (though that one would work to). The correct link is:
