TMS320F28335: Some problems using XDS100v3 Rev. 2 Design Kit

Part Number: TMS320F28335

Hello!

I'm Sinho, Kim.

I'm now reviewing TI's XDS100v3 Rev. 2 Design Kit for considering if for the future use.

While doing this, I have found some problems related to the kit and they are listed below.

   1. After several installation of XDS100v3 Rev. 2 Design kit, XDS100v3-Rev2.exe file have not been found on the disk.

   2. I couldn't have look over the FPGA design files using Libero IDE v9.1 which need a paid license.

2.1 Instead, I tried to do it using Libero SoC v11.8 with the silver license which is a free license and support all ProASIC3 devices.

2.1.1 When opening v3_fpga_2.prjx file, I have found that it looks like a blank project.

2.1.2 When opening v3_fpga_125.prjx file, I have found that it has some design information.

2.1.2.1 It was fortunate for me to see the design.

2.1.2.2 I couldn't have been sure what fpga device matches with the schematic.

2.1.2.2 When executing "Route and Place", I have found some waring messages while there was no error.

2.1.2.2.1 Because I have not studied Libero SoC v11.8 yet, I can't modify the design.

2.1.2.2.2 I think that I need the modified design file without any warning and error message.

The above statement is my problems. In summary,

   1. XDS100v3-Rev2.exe file was not found on my disk after several intallation and uninstallation.

   2. What fpga device matches with the schematic.

   3. The project, that v3_fpga_2.prjx file includes, looks like a blank project when using Libero SoC v11.8.

   4. I need the modified design, that v3_fpga_125.prjx file includes, without any warning and error message when using Libero SoC v11.8.

Could you help me about these problems?

Thank you for your attention.

Sincerely yours.

Sinho, Kim.

This may be something related to your system; I was able to download and execute the installer without problems in various hosts (Windows 7, Windows 10)

Please check this discussion - it should be the Xilinx A3P060.

Unfortunately we can't help you migrate this project to a newer tool. These files are provided as-is without support.

In any case, I noticed the design package tries to install itself to the C:\Program Files (x86) directory, which is known to cause problems as Windows' User Access Control prevents accesses to these locations. If you haven't done so, can you reinstall this package to a different directory? Maybe to C:\ti?

  • Hi Rafael.

    1. Could you send the whole installed files of XDS100v3 Rev. 2 Design Kit to my e-mail : shkim-2001@hanmail.net
    2. As I know, the fpga device was A3P125. And I need sub-models of it.
    2.1 In other words, for example, A3PN125Z-1VQ100, A3PN125Z-1VQ100I, A3PN125Z-2VQ100, A3PN125Z-2VQ100I or etc.
    3. / 4. I could have been able to know that these projects are provided as-is and any modification is not supported.
