CCS/TMS320C6657: View Stack Usage Hangs CCS

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

"Loading Stack Usage" dialog pops up and just "spins" forever.  Only option is to kill the CCS process using Windows Task Manager.

    Which version of CCS are you using? There is a known issue (CCDSK-2978: Stack Usage view hangs CCS) that was fixed in the CCSv8.0 release.

    The file is 21 MB. Perhaps it's too large for your server. Most companies stopped using Comodore 64s as servers several decades ago...

  • This thread was moved to a private discussion. For those following the thread, the Stack Usage takes an extremely long time when processing larger out files with a lot of stack usage data. It also takes up a lot of heap memory - which can lead to "out of memory" eclipse errors. I have filed a bug. Tracking ID: CCSIDE-3348
