Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi there, 

we are having trouble with installing Code Composer Studio V 8 on Windows 64-bit machines. Instillation got stuck and not respond. We already work with out company cyber security to unblock all the necessary file of code composer application even thought it failed to installed. 

suggestion or any information helpful and appropriated.

    Hello Ki,

    Please find install log along with the screenshot of installer that got stuck every time at the same point during installation. we have tried both online and offline installer (CCS8.1.0.00011_win32) but both does same. We are using Microsoft windows defender for anti-virus and we have been whitelisted code composer's files from the AV.

    Hi Kinjal,

    Could you please check in the installdir folder ccsv8\install_logs for any other logs there? I'd like to see the msvc logs in particular. Could you zip up the folder and post here?

    Here the entire Install Log folder for you.

    I have also tried to install the CCS8 on windows 10 machine with Compatibility mode with windows 8 and it seems installation is working. it is still installing thought, will update you shortly on this installation.

    Hmm, that's strange that it would require compatibility with Windows 8, because we do a whole lot of testing on Windows 10 and we've never run into this issue. I think there was a problem with the wget call to test connections to the server in case the installer needs something from there. However, I'm glad it's running for you now.

    What does mean by wget call connection? Do you know how to fix the issues?  As Cummins we are switching our windows platforms to windows 8 to Windows 10 next month and to install the CCS8 with backward compatibility doesn't seems appropriate option for us. We would be like to resolved this issues on priority so our existing user can use the application on their new windows 10 machines. Let me know if anything needs to modify in our company security environment to connect to the your server so installer get what it needs to install the application correctly on windows 10 machines.

    Hi Kinjal,

    Do you think you could zip up the install_logs folder for the successful installation and post here, please? I'd like to look and see if there's any visible reason for the compatibility mode working, while the windows 10 install didn't.  I'm looking into this and will get back to you with a workaround or fix as soon as possible.

    Apologies for delayed in reply. I was out of office for few days. Please find the install log along with this email. I got the install logs from the same machine that I have installed CCS8 with windows 8 compatibility.

    we are still struggling to install the CCS8 on windows 10 machines though.

    The installer was having a problem installing the msvc redistributable 2017 on the user's machines. When it was uninstalled, the CCS installer ran correctly.
