CCS/CC-DEVPACK-DEBUG: Devpack Debugger only giving 4 characters of serial number and breaking CCS

Hello,

we recently bought a batch of Devpack debuggers, board rev 1.3. When connected to CCS v8 they only seem to give 4 characters of the serial number, with the rest being padded out, to give something in the ccxml file like "L958&#0." This then breaks CCS unless you delete that serial number from the file.

We have other v1.3 debuggers which work fine. Is this a known hardware issue?

If you connect the debugger to SmartRF Studio, does it look the same? If so, could you post a screenshot showing how it looks like?

Hi, it does show up only 4 character of the debugger serial in SmartRF as well.

It looks like the debugger has gotten a wrong serial number in production. This can be fixed by using xdsdfu.exe which is typically placed here: C:\ti\ccs_base\common\uscif\xds110

Then you can set a new ID by:
xdsdfu.exe -s L0000958 -r

Thanks managed to flash them.

For anyone else reading this it needs to be put into DFU mode by using -m as well before the serial number can be changed.
