CCS/AWR1642: What is the requirement for using the printf/scang function in debugging environment with XDS560 and AWR1642?

1) Which JTAG pins do I need to connect to which pin of AWR1642?

e.g. Should UART rx/tx pin connect to EMU 0/1?

2) What kind of mechanism does printf/scanf display/read on the CCS Console window?

Hi,

1) For details about the connections, I would check the following resources:

- Page 16 of the AWR1642 EVM User's guide contains links to schematics
- The XDS Target Connection Guide

The JTAG connectors do not provide for UART communications.

2) The mechanism is called console I/O and is described at the following reference:
