IS there any c64x+ compiler option to report the stalls (NOPS inserted) which can be detected at compile time?

Alternately, is there any tool to analyse the NOPS in a COFF file?

    No.

    You could search through the output of the disassembler.  Something like this ...

    % dis6x coff_file.out | fgrep NOP
