CCS/MSP432P401R: Resource Explorer does not start

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

When I try to start Resource explorer in CCS V8 I see this : 

Resource Explorer encountered a problem. Please close and reopen Resource Explorer. 

If you continue to experience problems then please refer tohttp://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Troubleshooting_CCSv7#Resource_Explorer

I see this problem stated all over the Web - but no solution.

Is this problem resolved? If so what is the solution?

  • Hi Jim,
    Did you indeed try checking your proxy settings and deleting the tirex local server folder? If so, and the issue persists, please provide the log found in:

    c:\Users\<user>\ti\tirex-localserver-3.6.5\.logs.

    Thanks for your response. I have checked the proxy settings and tried manual,native and direct. I understand that native is the correct setting.

  • Hi  Ki-Soo, I am having the same issue (CCS v7 both in W10 and MacOS 10.11.6). Just downloaded CCS v8, hoping to solve it, but it persists. attached is the log from tirex-localserver-3.6.5 on the Mac and tirex-localserver-3.1.3 on the PC. I hope, you can find the reason for this.

  • Hi people, I have the solution, I think!
    In CCS Preferences/General/Web Browser, set the option "Use external Web Browser" and check "Default system Web Browser"
    After restarting CCS it worked in both Systems (mac and Win10)
    Something is wrong with the Cromium Browser...

    Can you try deleting the folders below to delete the database cache?

    C:\Users\<user name>\ti\tirex-localserver-<version>

    I did this and didn`t work.
    Changing the browser In CCS Preferences/General/Web Browser to "Use external Web Browser" and "Default system Web Browser" works, however.
    I guess, if the Cromium browser CCS uses is a kind of child of Google Chrome, well, maybe this is the main problem.

  • Thanks Gustavo. The next thing to try is to clear the browser cache for Chromium. When I found out the steps to do this, I will pass this along

  • To delete the chromium browser cache, go to <WORKSPACE FOLDER>\..jxbrowser-data and delete the entire "Cache" folder.
