Compiler: Activation context generation failed for ... tpic6x.dll". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC90.MFC,processorArchitecture ...

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

We migrated our builds from local build server running Windows 7 to AWS server running Windows 2016.

Event log now shows may instances of this error:

Activation context generation failed for "D:\ZZZZZZZZZZZ\tools\ti\ccsv5\ccs_base\emulation\tpi\tpic6x.dll". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC90.MFC,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="9.0.21022.8" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis

The build seems to be successful.  Please confirm this is not an issue.

  • Hello,
    I see you are using an old version of CCS (CCSv5). CCSv5 is officially supported on Windows 7 but not on anything later than that. I would strongly recommend updating your CCS version. Preferably to the CCSv8.x

    Thanks
