CCS/TSC2000: Unable to install CCSv8 on Windows machine

I am unable to install CCSv8 on my machine, I get an error related to TCL, here is the bitrock_installer log. I am on a Windows 10 machine.

Hi,

It looks like the installer wasn't able to extract all the files it needs. Can you please confirm that you have enough disk space and appropriate permissions? If you do, please delete this download and try again, it could be that the install package was corrupted during download. Please attach the install logs if you have a problem.

Hi Danish,
Thank you for getting back. I have over 300GB of disk space free and have admin privileges. Unfortunately, the installer never comes up (I tried a couple of installers that I downloaded). I get a dialog box with "No origin file found that matched C:/Users/paul.das/Local Settings//bitrock_installer.log" without any installer window coming up.
A little background here, I had CCS 8 working on my computer and I was trying to install C2800 compiler version 16.9.8, which corrupted my install. At this point I couldn't open CCS, uninstall or reinstall it (got the same error regarding TCL). Now, I have deleted everything I could find about CCS in my computer and trying to reinstall, but it still has the same problem. I tried installing the C2800 compiler on a different machine with its anti virus disabled and that seem to have worked. I have currently disabled anti-virus on my machine, but the installation still fails.

Hi Paul,
There's something that you may want to look at. Usually the %TEMP% folder points to something like C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp. Yours seems to point to C:/Users/paul.das/Local Settings/. Could you check if that's the right value? I don't have write permissions in that folder.
If it is correct, could you check that you have write permissions there?
Also, can you download the package to a local disk?
You can try resetting the temp folder value on the command line by doing the following:
Open a cmd prompt as administrator
On the command line, run the installer with the --temp <directory with write permissions> parameter.
e.g:
ccs_setup_8.0.0.00016.exe --temp c:\temp

Hi Danish,

You were right, changing the temp dir worked as you suggested. However, the install failed further down the road. It did create install logs and I submitted the logs as the tool recommended. The reference number is: 124100

Please let me know if you would like further details.

PS: My anti virus was off when I tried this installation.

HI Paul,

It looks like the installer is unable to download components it needs. Could you please download the offline installer, delete the contents of the installation directory and try again?
