CCS/TMS320F28335: connecting to target error with CCSv7 and XDS510USB-PLUS

New user here and I'm attempting to get an XDS510 USB PLUS emulator working with CCSv7 and a F28335 control card (release 2.2) which is inserted into the TI Docking-Stn USB-EMU.  Until now I've been using the onboard USB JTAG emulator on the docking station without a problem, but now I need to connect to it via JTAG so I can prepare for the prototype boards.

Clicking on the debug icon results in the error...

Error connecting to the target:

(Error 102 @ 0x0)

Internal error: Invalid error code. Restart the application. If error persists, please report the error.

(Emulation package 7.0.48.0)

I have the following config under Project->Properties->CCS General->Configuration->Main

Family: C2000

Variant: < > TMS320F28335

Connection: Spectrum Digital XDS510USB Emulator TI-JSC

My colleague has CCSv5 with Spectrum Digital XDS510USB-PLUS Emulator via JSC (which I don't see in my list of options) and he doesn't have any connectivity issues.

Does the option I have selected "...XDS510USB Emulator TI-JSC" include the XDS510USB-PLUS? 

Is there anything else I should be looking at to work past this issue?

I've also tried SDConfigEX XDS510USB->510 Emulator-Test and it detects 1 JTAG device in the scan chain

    Hi,

    Unfortunately I don't have a XDS510USB Plus to try and validate the exact setup. However, usually the JSC configuration is used in very specific cases and I would recommend you to try the connection named "Spectrum Digital XDS510USB Emulator" instead.

    If that does not work, I strongly recommend you to contact Spectrum Digital directly - they manufacture this Debug Probe and would have better insights about what may be happening.
