I am using CCS 8.1, and I am trying to compile the code available for the 

MSP430FR6047 Ultrasonic Sensing Evaluation Module

UltrasonicWaterFR6047_02_10_00_05

Fails during import,and recommends to contact tech support.

I've also tried importing using Project>Import CCS Projects. I get the same error.

That is odd. I am able to import it successfully.

Can you try something. Try creating a brand new project (Project -> New CCS Project) and see if you have the option to select "MSP430FR6047" in the drop down menu for the Target:

If the MSP430FR6047 option is available, then you have device support. I'm not sure what else could be the cause of the metadata import error.

Do you have the demo installed in the default C:\ti\msp\UltrasonicWaterFR6047_02_10_00_05? Are you able to import the project in the attached zip file?

I've moved the project to the c:\ti\msp directory, but still get the same error when trying to import.

When trying to import the project you sent, I don't even get the import options. Screen shot attached. I don't get the option to check the box to left of MSP430.... to import. It seems the importer does not recognize it as a CCS project.
