CCS/AM3358: BeagleBone Black PRU programming from Code composer Studio (V8)

Hi All

I am trying to get into programming the PRU inside my BeagleBone Black. From scouring the internet there seems to be a couple of methods -

1) program with Cloud 9 on the BBB and  compile it  using remoteproc 

2) Use CCS and compile the program on your PC 

I am opting for option 2 and am trying to make an 'hello world / blink led' sample.

In the tutorial it says that under the create new project wizzard that there is a selection for BeagleBone and PRU - I have neither of these options available. I have seen in some other training the mention of  adding 'PRU' compiler under the 'code composer studio add-ons' (in the app centre).

Could someone please confirm what I need to have installed into CCS (V8) from the App Centre in order for me to have beaglebone and PRU as the project target device??

    Hello Mike,

    rerun CCS installer with an admin privilege.
    During an installation a screen with TI devices support would appear.
    Select needed devices or all. Then you will have BeagleBone support.

    Just adding to Tomasz reply, you want to select "Sitara devices" when installing CCS. 

    Also, from the CCS App Center you need to install the PRU Compiler. Simply click on Code Composer Studio Add-ons → See More → scroll down to find the PRU compiler.
