CCS: installation problems - "Downloading all features" never completes

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Newbie Question. I have not been able to download CCS, I have tried both cloud and desktop versions and even different hardware configurations (MSP430 etc) but the downloader keeps "stalling" at "Downloading all features". I say "stalling" it would appear that something is happening as I am getting an increasing number of dots (i.e. Downloading all features ...........) showing but nothing is happening. I have tried patience, even leaving it over a long weekend (4 days!) but it just keeps creating more dots but never finishing. I have tried turning off the "virus protection" but cant see any difference and am not keen on having it off for days.

I have also tried deleting install folder, rebooting and re-installing but the problem remains exactly the same

Help very much appreciated.

    Hello Sean,

    could you try this:
    download offline installer
    turnoff networking interfaces
    run installer with an admin privilege?

    Many Thanks for your help, I did what you said ...it didnt work but it caused me to think about what I was doing wrong...and I took the drastic step of reading the installation instructions (I know!). What I hadnt done is extract the zip before trying to install...as it tells you to do on the 2nd line of the install instructions! Sorry I'm an idiot...once I had unzipped everything the install worked fine. Many thanks for your help, sometimes when you keep repeating something stupid its crucial to have someone to force you to step back...again thanks for that.
