CCS/AM5726: Generate assembler listing file

Hello,

I am using Code Composer Studio version 7.4.0.00015 and I write code for a Sitara AM572x Coortex A15_0 core. I would like to instruct CCS (the tool-chain) to generate a so-called 'assembler listing file' as part of the compilation/linking process.

Where can I find the setting in the properties that CCSv7 creates such a listing file?

I am using the GNU compiler and I don't find such an option as mentioned above.

Andreas,

GCC project options in Eclipse/CCS are not fully exposed just like the TI Compiler (the screenshot that Tomasz sent).

This screen shows an empty field where you can manually add options by using the Add... button at the top right, with the benefit that you can also use the Eclipse Build Variables to specify filenames and locations.

I also have a personal preference to add a few more options to clean the output, which are mentioned in the following thread:

Combining the two, I end up with the following option:

-adhln='${CWD}\\${InputFileBaseName}.S'

I personally prefer to use the more descriptive variable:

-adhln='${BuildDirectory}\\${InputFileBaseName}.S'

Hi Rafael,

I added the above line but what I want is something else. I would like to get one big file that holds the disassembly view of the whole program similar to what the disassembly window shows in CCS. So basically have the following in an separate file:

Let me give you an example of another CPU vendor that uses a Cortex M4 core:

The file is being generated via calling the following:

'Invoking: ARM-GCC Create Listing'
"C:/MyProject/eclipse/ARM-GCC-49/bin/arm-none-eabi-objdump" -h -S "stepIM_EtherCAT_NEMA23.elf" > "stepIM_EtherCAT_NEMA23.lst"
'Finished building: stepIM_EtherCAT_NEMA23.lst'

In this case you have to use objdump.

You can always add this step as a post build step of your project and use the same Eclipse variables. Details about this can be found at the following reference:

Try adding a Post-Build step with the following command:

"${CG_TOOL_ROOT}/bin/arm-none-eabi-objdump" -h -S "${BuildArtifactFileName}" > "${BuildArtifactFileBaseName}.lst"
