CCS/MSP430FR6989: I am trying to install Code Composer Studio v8, and it is taking a very long time

Hi TI community,

I am trying to install CCS v8 (link) into my laptop (64bit, Windows 10), and it is taking a very long time to install

prior to installation I disabled my anti-virus, just in case it interferes with the installation.

The installation bar is progressing extremely slowly, this almost took 40 mins.

prior to CCS v 8.2.0, I had CCS v 6.1.0 installed (didn't have this issue), uninstalled it, and tried to install v8.

Kindly advise me on what to do, and please let me know if you need additional details to post it here.

Depending on h/w I/O performance and speed of Internet connection it can take even longer.
What is your status?

My Internet connection: Wifi: 65 Mbps, Internet 20 Mbps Download, so it wasn't the issue as lots of people seem to have this problem

I tried the offline installer for Windows instead (processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Download_CCS), disabled the antivirus until restart, and deleted ti folder from C:/ti, and the installer still stuck in "installing utilities and miscellaneous"

If you really need CCS8.2 we can continue try to fix it.
If 8.2 is not a must, just install v8.1
New CCS version is coming and of Nov.

Could you please zip up the contents of the install directory's install_logs folder and post the file here?

If you are still having trouble installing CCS, please zip up the install_logs folder in the installation directory and attach it here. If not, we will assume that you have been able to move forward with a successful installation of either CCS 8.2 or 8.1.
