CCS handling single-step and breakpoint

Hi,

For now, I am working on a TI C5510 DSP using a XDS510PP-Plus emulator.

How does CCS handle single-stepping and breakpoints?

Are they both treated as software breakpoints?

What does CCS do different between them? Are more JTAG commands required

for breakpoints? Are the JTAG commands longer ?

    aditi,

    stepping uses breakpoints.  typically software breakpoints but it will use hardware breakpoints if the memory is not writable.  keep in mind that when stepping may set multiple breakpoints if the code could branch to multiple locations.
