CCS/MSP430FR2033: The RECLEN field of CCS Intel HEX output format

Hi champs,

When I use CCS to generate intel HEX and I will get the output file as below format. Looks like the maximum value of RECLEN filed(payload length) is 0x20 of hex430.exe. Is there any way to modify the maximum value of RECLEN filed from 0x20 to 0x10?

Please advise if any idea, thanks for your help.

The documentation of the Intel hex format you use is in the MSP assembly tools manual. Search for the section titled Intel MCS-86 Object Format. When you say RECLEN, I presume you mean record length, which is the same as byte count in the documentation.

Unfortunately, there is no mechanism for controlling the byte count of the records.

Hi Luke,
the option you are looking for is not provided by msp430.exe.
Try srec_cat which belongs to Srecord utilities: srecord.sourceforge.net/srecord-1.64.pdf
