CCS/TMS320C6748: Just one of the cpp files in the project has no syntax highlight nor outline

I'm using CCS v8.0.0 on a large, old project. All files seem to display just fine in the editor, with syntax highlighting and the outline window working normally. Except for one CPP file! It compiles and links, and I can edit the file, but everything is black on white and the outline window says "An outline is not available". I'm pretty sure this file was ok last time I edited it, maybe a month ago.

Also, the tab at the top of the editor window shows a symbol like a pair of red braces on a sheet of paper. The others all show a sheet of paper with .c or .h on it.

Any ideas?

Could you send a screen shot of what the editor tab looks like as well as the icon that shows up in the project explorer.

This sounds like maybe the indexer has failed for this file.

Here you are. It's DusPreProcessor_t.cpp

It looks as though the Project Explorer recognizes it as a .cpp file, but not the editor.

It looks like the file is being opened by the "Generic text editor"

If I right click on the file and select open with I can see the list of editors. That icon matches with the Generic text editor.

Try changing it to this one:

You're right - simple as that! It appears that a file 'remembers' which editor yo used last time and keeps on using it, so maybe I got into this state with a clumsy r-click or something.
