DSK 6713 + CCS V3.3

I board DSK 6713 was purchased with CCS V1. But for some reason i want to use CCS V3.3. I have found that previous driver will not work. So i have downloaded the driver from the site http://support.spectrumdigital.com/ccs33/    . After installation the driver  in the CCS SETUP  it is showing the option to select DSK 6713 (big & Little). I have selected it. Then whenever i am trying to open  the CCS it is showing the following error message .

Unable to find an appropriate registry key for  "TMS320C2XX"                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Target driver: C:\CCSudio_v3.3\drivers\sdgo6713dsk.dvr

Please help me to fix this error.

    Biprangshu,

    Where did you get your CCS installation?  I believe you are using a build of CCSv3.3 that does not support the device you are trying to use.  Most of the versions of CCSv3.3 that are bundled with a particular development kit will only work with that kit and cannot be used with a different board.

    I recommend using CCS 4.  You can always get the latest and greatest free for use with EVMs and all the drivers come built into it.

    Thanx John & Brad.

    Its a great idea to use CCS4. I have tried to use the CCS4. But getting some prolem connecting the device.

    1.I am not able to understand which connection type shold i use (like i. Bjackhawk USB2.0 Emulator     ii. Spectrum digital DSK-EVM -eZDSP onboard USB  Emulator   etc). Both & many other connection type showing the same device.

    2. What will bhe the sequence of operation to connect to connect the device -  Spectrum digotal TMS320C6713 DSK,   in CCS4

    if any link is available plz post it .

    One last & most important thing to be asked.

    1.will the same code made for DSK6713 + CCS 3.1,  run in DSK6713+ CCs4

    2. What will be the proper sequence of operation to make a project, is that same as CCS 3.1

    3. With CCS 3.1 cd I got  a tutorial of DSK 6713  with following contents

    i) Development Environment

     ii)Loading & running a program

    iii) introduction to DSP bias

    iv) BSL overview

    v) BSL API  list with description

    Vi) Different examples in CCS3.1 environment

    etc

    From where can I get  the same for CCS4 to work on DSK 6713

     

    4. Also i am not finding any DSK 6713 specific files like include file, .lib, .hlp files etc , in  Texus Instrument folder.

    5. Can  u post  any link regarding examples for c6713+ccsv4

    In a word it will be very helpful if i get proper tutorial for DSK 6713 + CCS$

    Correct.  The code should not have to change.

    You can use all your existing library files in CCS 4.  The BSL, etc are owned by the board manufacturer, Spectrum Digital.

    Given the age of the 6713 you should not count on seeing any such tutorials from TI.  You might instead take a look at the Integration Workshop Using DSP/BIOS.  The current version is made to work with the C6748 DSP (2 generations past the 6713) and it has many labs and step-by-step instructions that sound more like what you are looking for.  The OMAPL138 Experimenter Kit is a relatively low cost way to get access to this board.
