Hi folks,

i've just upgraded my MSP-FET430UIF to the newer MSP-FET. i just plugged it in and started using with CCS.

It works, but seems slow. I'm using the backchannel uart at 19200baud, and this seems really sluggish (very noticeable lag between typing on the pc and getting echo'd back / processed by the msp).

Also, during debugging, it is causing two runs round my main loop, for every one wake from interrupt. i've confirmed this doesn't happen with the old FETUIF debugger, and doesn't happen when running standalone.

When using the older FETUIF, im using an FTDI serial cable with otherwise the same setup, and it is quick to respond, with no issues.

Should i be using a newer / different driver for the MSP-FET?

Hi Michael,

I would suggest you to update your CCS to the latest version as well as the emulator module by click Help->Check for Updates on CCS menu. This will let you get the latest MSP-FET driver.

Hi Wei,
Thanks for the suggestion. i just checked for updates, and the only updates available were:
ARM Compiler tools 16.9.9 and
MSP430 Compiler Tools 16.9.9. (was 16.9.8)

i've updated and it seems to have fixed the issue.
