CCS/CCSTUDIO: there has been an unknown error when installing CCS

Part Number: CCSTUDIO

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

when installing CCS7.4 and CCS8.3, I came across the question "there has been an error. Unknown error while running ......". As the following picture shows:

The system of my computer is Win10 PRO.

please help me. It has disturb me for long time. Happy Christmas !

  • How are you running the installer? Are you simply double-clicking on the ccs_setup_7.4.0.00015 executable?

The --mode win32 parameter is not required so I am wondering where that is coming from.

There is a related thread here, but I'm not very clear how the poster of that thread resolved the issue. If you have any previous, possibly corrupted installations of CCS could you try deleting them and then trying a clean installation again in a new directory?

  • HI,

Could you please look in the %TEMP% folder for any bitrock*log files, zip up and send to me?

Also, could you run the installer from a command prompt started as administrator with the following parameters

    ccs_setup_7.4.0.00015.exe --syncdebugtrace c:\temp\debug.txt

Please note c:\temp should exist and be writable by you. Please attach the debug.txt file.

    Thanks,

    Danish

  • Yuehu,

Were you able to successfully install CCS? If not, could you please send the information requested by Danish in the previous post?
    Thanks!
  • I have successfully installed CCS 8.1 by replacing my system—Win10_1809Oct. Thank you all the same. Good Luck.
