CCS/TM4C123GH6PM: Target Configuration Error for Tiva Launchpad

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I am attempting to debug my program and keep getting the following error:

"CORTEX_M4_0: Can't Initialize Target CPU: Failed to open COM14 at 9600 baud: open: The system cannot find the file specified"

I have checked my target configuration file and have removed all alternate communication.

This prevents me from debugging my program. I have attached a picture of the configuration file I am currently using.

Hi Ki,

I went to my advanced settings but I am not sure how to set this to solve my error.
Do I select the Cortex Processor and find an initialization scrpit?
Or do I need to find the correct port for it to target correcly on the TM4C123GH6PM?

Find out which COM port is actually being used by the launchpad, using Device Manager or some similar tool.

Add that COM port to the list for Uart Communication and see if that helps

Hi Ki,

This fixed my original problem, so thank you for that.

However, now I am confused about how the debugger is running.

As shown in the picture below why is the Stellaris In-Circuit Debug Interface not connected? Should I be worried about this? Will, it drastically affect my debugging process?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Looks like you are doing a "manual" launch. For this kind of debug launch, you would need to manually connect to the target (Run -> Connect Target)
