CCS: Install Older Version 5.5.0 of CCS in Windows 10

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Out IT department says that code composer studio "freezes" or "hangs" up during installation about 1/2 way though.

Should it be possible to install version 5.5.0 in a windows 10 environment?

If so is there a contact I can give to the IT people who would assist?

Multiple users are affected by this issue, we currently have to remote into Windows 7 machines for accomplishing builds, etc.

It may be possible but we don't officially support it. The first CCS version to officially support Windows 10 is CCS 6.1.3.

We strongly recommend using a later CCS version if you wish to use it with Windows 10.

  • Thank you Ki.

How might I determine if the tool-chain has been updated between version 5.5.0 and 6.1.3?   Is there any procedure to install an older tool-chain with a newer IDE/package install version?   If the tool-chain was revisioned, it would be helpful to have a procedure for this post-install operation.

  • If by "tool-chain" you are referring to the code generation tools, then CCSv6.1.3 does come with a new version of the tool chain. But it is absolutely possible to use older versions of the code generation tools with newer version of CCS:
