CCS 4.1 Project Build Errors

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CODECOMPOSER, CONTROLSUITE

I am new to CodeComposer software and am recieving multiple errors when attempting to build projects using CCS version 4.1.0.   I have gone as far as re-formatting the drive and re-installing all software with no  resolution.  Please see the attached screenshot of  "BlinkingLED" for Piccolo USBControl Stick with errors.

  • Hi Bosko,

looks like some files were missing, so, how did you import the example projects? I must say that I know nothing about C2000 series, but maybe the examples were made in CCS V3.3, so here's a 'how-to-guide' for importing such projects to V4.x (http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Importing_CCSv3_Projects_into_CCSv4)

By the way, the latest CCS production image is V4.2.0.10018 (find it here http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Download_CCS).

    Kind regards

  • I believe the examples were created using CCS 4.  The were installed via "Control Suite"

The example can not be imported as a CCS 3.3, .pjt extension is not found in the code example folder.

    Best regards,

    Bosko

  • Bosko,

Do you have ControlSUITE installed in a folder other than the default? (c:\ti\controlSUITE)

When importing the blinkingLED project into CCS, do you check the box for "Copy project into workspace"?

I can recreate errors similar to what you are seeing if I check the box to copy the project into workspace. It is best to not copy these projects into the workspace because there are source/header files spread out among different folders and the include file paths break because the macros are no longer set up correctly. Please delete the existing project in your workspace (by right-clicking on the project name and selecting Delete). Make sure "Do not delete contents" is enabled. Now import the project again, this time without copying it into your workspace. Let us know if the build errors go away.

  • Aarti,

You are correct, copying project into the workspace was resulting in multiple errors.  The issue required re-installing ControlSuite and launching CCS as instructed.  The "getting started" documentation  directs you to "copy project into workspace".

    Thank you for your help.

    Best regards,

    Bosko
