Dear team:

I'm attempting to install code composer studio v8 with the offline installer. When I run the installer (as an administrator) the installer hangs up at the stage where it is installing the TI emulation drivers. If I look at the task manager, the Tclsh Application is spawning new instances of the Driver Package Installer over and over, until it eats up all available memory. I've tried several times with the same results.

I have successfully installed CCS v6.1 on the same computer with no issues. Computer has Windows 10 Pro installed.

I'm wondering if this is a known issue and what the workaround is to get the installer to run successfully. Thanks!

Could you be a more specific?
Which CCS version?
Please, post an install log.

Additionally, it's code composer v8.3.0.00009. I'm also attaching a screenshot of the installer window with the Task manager running showing all the instances of the Driver Package Installer being created. Note: There are new instances of it being created until all available computer memory is used.

Hi,

Could you look in %TEMP% for any bitrock*.log files, zip them up and post here? One of those files may give us insight into why the component installer is behaving this way. If you've already run another instance of the CCS installer, those files would have been wiped away, though.

We have not been able to reproduce this locally yet, hence it is proving difficult to identify the root cause. Do you by any chance have access to another machine where you can try out the installation?

Hello,

Yes, I should have access to another PC shortly to try it out on that is the same configuration as this PC. I will give that a try and post back when I have tried that out.

Hello,

Sorry for the delay. I did get another PC and had the problem persist. After some debugging with our IT department, we narrowed it down to the new privilege manager that we are using to control admin rights. It appears to be granting admin rights to the top level installer, however, when the installer gets launched at this step, installing the emulation drivers, the privilege manager is blocking it. Disabling the manager allowed the install to run to completion.
