CCS: CCS V3.3 : Build error: cannot run dspcl

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I have installed this CCS V3.3.83.20  and try to compile project with TMS320F2406A processor,  got the Build error: cannot run dspcl error.

Thanks.

  • Krishnan,

Where did you get CCSv3.3.83.20? This version of CCSv3.3 does not include support for F24x. That is why you are getting the error, the compiler is not present. We did not sell that particular build of CCSv3.3 and instead it was provided to some users as downloads but only in the case where they were not using F24x. The licensing model for the F24x tools is different.

The F24x version of Code Composer Studio is available here:
    www.ti.com/.../CCSTUDIO3

Does someone else in your company have a license that you could use?

There was a build of 3.3.83.19 that included F24x: C2000_Code_Composer_Studio_v3.3.83.19_full.zip
The most common one in use would be the older 3.3.38.2

  • Hi,

we have already enquired about the compiler and IDE for this TMS320F2406 processor in this forum itself.

we have got sw setup from our branch in Europe, now we want make same environment setup here.

so let us know the details to purchase ( Compiler IDE, Programmer Tools )  for TMS320F2406 processor, which can support windows 7 environment.

    Thanks.

  • You can purchase a Code Composer Studio license that supports F24x here:
    www.ti.com/.../CCSTUDIO3

Note that CCSv3.3 was released prior to Windows 7 so it is not validated on Windows 7. That said lots of people use these tools on Windows 7.

As far as a debug probe / programmer you will want to get an XDS510 class probe. Something like this one: www.spectrumdigital.com/.../
    or www.blackhawk-dsp.com/.../usb2000
