Compiler: TI ARM C/C++ Compiler v5.1.6 needed

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

Hello,

I cannot find any means of downloading the compiler in subject from TI website. CCS is showing that it's downloaded the feature, but the compiler doesn't show up in the tools folder. I've found the 5.2.something version in the legacy compilers section, but in my case it needs to be this exact one.

Thanks,

Bartosz

    You can only get it by using the update feature in CCS.

    When you look in the directory location similar to ...

    C:\ti\ccsv8\tools\compiler

    ... you don't see a directory named arm_5.1.6 (or something similar)?  I've never seen that happen.  I can only suggest that you try again.  When I do it from CCSv8, I start by selecting Help | Install Code Generation Tools.  Where it shows type filter text, I put arm.  I open TI Compiler Updates and scroll down until I see version 5.1.6.  See the screen shot below.  The installation is straightforward from there.  You have to restart CCS.

    Thanks and regards,

  • Thank you George. In the end I had to uninstall package/restart/install again/restart for the compiler folder to show up.
