Compiler/TMS320F280041: Migrating from CGT v18.1.2 to CGT v18.12.1

Hello,

we have already developed some applications, using CGT v18.1.2.

Now, we are going to develop a new application based on the same microcontroller, and we were evaluating to upgrade the compiler.

We have seen that the latest version (v18.12.1) is pretty new, so we were wandering if it is a goog idea to upgrade the compiler, or if it is better to continue to use the older one.

What is your suggestion?

Is there a good reason to upgrade from 18.1.2 to 18.12.1?

From that article, I get that cgt v.18.12.1 is to be considered a new compiler and not an upgrade of v.18.1.2.

Considering that v.18.12.1 has been released a little time ago, we have decided to continue using v.18.1.2.
