CCS/LAUNCHXL-CC2640R2: Import failed because its meta-data cannot be interpreted

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

New to CCS (version 8.30) and trying to load the BOOSTXK-AoA example project, rtls_master, and get the error shown in the attached picture.

Steps were

Project -> Import CCS Project... -> Project File within the SDK.

Importing works well with other examples for the same target - LaunchPad_CC2640R2 in the same examples folder

What am I missing?

Your import screen does not look like it should. Instead of showing the discovered projects, in your case it is showing a directory, which is why the import fails.

This is what the import dialog should look like:

What does the directory C:\ti\simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk_2_40_00_32\examples\rtos\CC2640R2_LAUNCHXL\blestack\rtls_master\tirtos\ccs contain in your installation? It should only have two .projectspec files.

Yep, has only the two files shown below:

rtls_master_cc2640r2lp_app.projectspec

rtls_master_cc2640r2lp_stack_library.projectspec

Why doesn't my version show the library?

project_file1.zipThere was an odd .project file in the main project folder with no name only the extension. When I removed this, I got the import dialog as you demonstrated and it started to import with progress bar then crashed.

I added a name to the .project file (project_file1) in order to upload it along with the memory dump after the crash.

That .project file is definitely not expected in the main project folder. I'm not sure how it got there but perhaps it was a left over from a previously failed import. I would've expected that deleting it and reimporting the project should've worked.

Could you try opening a new workspace and import just that project again?

Also, tried importing via TI REX and got the following error shown in the screen shot.

Thanks AartiG, that fixed it! I deleted both the imported project and the .project file and it imports and builds fine.
