CCS: CCSv8.3 Continually rebuilds every few seconds

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

The progress window shows :-

Refreshing Workspace

( Blocked : The user operation is waiting for background work to complete )

I have searched and tried several things already, including making sure any automatic builds are disabled etc.

I have deleted the .metadata and re-indexed.

How can I find out what the background work is, and therefore how to solve this ?

Windows task manager doesn't give too much away, apart from periodically showing the build process restart every few seconds.

When blocked, can you generate a stack thread dump file and attach it to this thread?

Also, does the project successfully build but then automatically rebuilds itself again?

The build seems to finish but immediately restarts, but the console window isn't updated so it is hard to tell exactly what happens !

I don't see anything in there at first glance that looks suspicious.

The continual rebuild is very odd to me. Would it be possible to use some video screen capture software so that you can post a video? I'm really confused by this.

I have attached another log file from another project, but same problem.

There isn't anything to see in the CCS view, but as I watch Windows task manager I can see the compiler process come and go ecery few seconds, but I do not know what is initiating it because at that point I haven't done anything.

Are they any build messages being constantly outputted to the console?

No, as I said, the CCS view is apparently idle, nothing happening AT ALL.

Sorry for the basic questions, but I just want to make sure i correctly understand everything. So they only indication of the continual rebuild is that the existence of the various running build tools processes in task manager?

You are correct.
Don't worry about the basic questions, just that I have been looking at this for 2 days now !
I thought it would be possible to see what is triggering the repeated rebuilds, they seem to complete because the target *.obj file keeps re-appearing even if I delete it from Windows explorer.

It was a call to PC-Lint+ during the build process. Not PC-Lint+ itself but a supporting utility called from the command shell was failing and stalling.

Thanks Andy. This is good to know. Workspace slowdowns are a common issue and we are trying to put together a comprehensive checklist on potential issues.
