CCS/TMS320F28335: Monitor a variable of a block in Simulink using CCS

Hello everyone!

I use the Simulink + CCS to program a DSP TMS320f28335.

1.- How can I monitor a simulink variable in the CCS debugger? 
2.- Is there a special block in simulink to create variables in CCS?

I require your help to manipulate the values of an ADC

Hi Abraham,

You can view and tune Simulink parameters from Simulink (using something we call External mode). CCS may not know what those parameters are called, so I'm not sure there is an easy way to do what you ask.

You can generate code for your algorithm only (in C) and import that into CCS and deploy from CCS. In that case, I think the variables would be available in CCS to pass into the debugger. But you would need to set up the CCS project properly; which we may help generate (depending on the MathWorks release you are using).

Thank you very much Brian McKay for your response.

I read the information in the links that you suggested to me. Now that I realized that Matlab Simulink can communicate in a serial way and execute a model in external mode, I would like to know if there is a way to communicate and execute my Simulink model in real time, using as interface a JTAG USB560M (It is the JTAG that I am using) and manage to debugg my model of the dsp TMS320F28335 by means of simulink.

Hi Abraham,

AFAIK, you can only connect MathWorks to the TI C2000 via Serial and CAN. JTAG is not supported.

That said, it seems technically possible you could build a way to connect and pass data over JTAG; but I think that would be alot of work to code and test. If you need a definitive answer on the JTAG support, please contact MathWorks Technical Support.
