CCS/CC1310: XDS110 and energy trace setup problem

Part Number: CC1310

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi we have problemes with CCS, XDS110 and energy trace.

We have a small form factor CC1310 design that works fine. I have been using the LaunchPad for programming and debugging together with CCS 8.2

We want to get better control of energy usage because the design is intended to operate from coin cell battery.

After a bit of searching we found out that we needed XDS110 with the add-on energy trace hdr.

Because we have not put on 10pin jtag socket I had to make a custom plug using the 14pin TI adapter that come with the XDS110.

First problem, is the reset needed? it is not available on the 14 pin adapter!

Could not find a clear answer to this!

When I try to debug our design I get:

Error connecting to the target:

(Error -267 @ 0x0)
The controller could not detect valid target supply. Check target
JTAG connection and/or connection setting specifying voltage level.
(Emulation package 8.0.903.4)

I do not measure any voltage on the AUX port  where I have connected my design to TGTSUPPLY out. I have also tried with battery in the circuit without any luck.

  • Hi,

Did you set your probe to supply power? Something mentioned at 4:00 of the following short clip:

    youtu.be/WOiJsRBMmr4

Otherwise, check the earlier stages of the video for details on how to properly connect it to the target board (at about 2:40)

    Hope this helps,
    Rafael
