CCS/SM470R1B1M-HT: SM470R1B1M-HT Code Composer Supported?

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Code composer does not seem to support either the SM470R1B1M-HT or the TMS470R1B1M-HT. Is there another device install package to add support for these ARM7 devices to Code Composer or is Keil/IAR the only option?

    Hi,

    Unfortunately Code Composer Studio never had full support for these devices. The history is a bit long .

    At the time these devices were released, Code Composer Studio did not have public support for ARM cores and therefore the choice was to release the Flash routine and the complete debug environment using a third party solution (IAR).

    Depending on the install choices, Code Composer Studio installs a sister board named TMS470R1A256 eZTMS470 - still the same ARM7 core but a different device. Although this configuration still allows connecting to the TMS470 part and performing full debug, it does not contain the flash algorithm to program it, requiring either an external flasher program or IAR.

    Therefore, I suspect you will have a more successful path in choosing the third party solution.
