  • Mike,

Is this the board you are using: www.ti.com/.../MSP-EXP430FR2311

Are you on Windows, Linux or Mac?

What is the error message you are seeing?

    Regards,
    John
  • John,
    1. That is the one you mentioned: www.ti.com/.../MSP-EXP430FR2311.
    2. Windows7 64-bit.
    3. Button "Resume", "Suspend", "Terminate", "Step into", "Step over" and "Step return" is in gray color and message is "Error initializing emulator:No USB FET was found" after "Debug" button was pressed.
  • Thanks Mike

Looks like the board is not being detected. If you open device manager and expand "Ports (COM & LPT)" do you see "MSP Debug Interface (COM#)" listed?

I will need to look in an expert on the MSP debug hardware.

    Regards,
    John
  • Hello Mike,

Are you using a USB hub or USB 3.0 port? If so, try connecting the LaunchPad directly to your PC and switching to USB 2.0 port. Have you populated all the jumpers on the LaunchPad? I would also recommend searching the forum for your "Error initializing emulator:No USB FET was found" error, since there are many similar threads with this issue and recommendations on how to solve it.

    Regards,

    James
  • James,
USB 2.0 port, jumpers on the LaunchPad were correctly populated, there is no any port option available in "Connection" under "Properties"->"General", it seems USB driver was not found but which had been installed already.

    Thanks for confirming.

Your CCS installation should have included the correct drivers for the device. As JohnS mentioned, if you open Window's Device Manager and expand "Ports (COM & LPT)" do you see "MSP Debug Interface (COM#)" listed?

  • James,
It seems there is nothing as you mentioned, I will try to uninstall CCS and USB driver then reinstall.
  • Hi Mike,

Thanks for the update. I'm sorry you're having this trouble. Let me know if re-installing CCS helps. Do you have any other MSP430 LaunchPads that you could use to see if they get recognized? Perhaps something like ESD has damaged this one.

    Regards,

    James
