Hello,

I am having CCS "Not Responding" issues quite often with CCSv9.0.1.00004.

Some other info:

OS = Windows 7 Enterprise

uC = TMS320F28335

compilier version: 18.1.1.LTS

It seems to happen more often on my laptop. Is anyone else having this issue?

How many projects do you have within a workspace?
How huge is your max heap size for Java VM?

I only have one project in the workspace.

How do I set the Java heap size ? I didn't see anything about the java vm in preferences.

In Eclipse.ini, I changed -Xmx512m to -Xmx1024m.

With only one project withing the workspace, 512 MB heap should be ok.

As I remember, ccstudio.ini should be changed to increase the JVM heap size.

You can check the heap usage with the following settings:

Tomasz is correct, it is ccstudio.ini that needs to be modified, not eclipse.ini

Also note that since CCSv9 is now a 64-bit application, you should be able to increase the max help size to a value much higher than what was recommended when CCS was a 32-bit application (CCSv8 and earlier). For myself, I am happy with 2048m.

Increasing the Java VM heap size fixed the issue. I increased it to 2048.
