CCS: Problem downloading new CCS 9 software

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Using CCS 9 and latest MAC software I am trying to download 'New Software" as suggested by the small requester that turns up when I run CCS.

The program goes just beyond agreeing to the terms and then this pops up:

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed

session context was:(profile=epp.package.cpp, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).

No repository found containing: org.eclipse.update.feature,com.ti.cgt.msp430.18.mac,18.12.2

No repository found containing: binary,com.ti.cgt.msp430.18.mac_root,18.12.2

No repository found containing: org.eclipse.update.feature,com.ti.cgt.tms470.18.mac,18.12.2

No repository found containing: binary,com.ti.cgt.tms470.18.mac_root,18.12.2

And it will not download the new software.

Not sure what to do about this.

  • Does the error occur only when installing the MSP430 Compiler tools or when trying to install any update? Which MacOS are you running?

Please take a look at the following references to see if they help.

    No repository found error

  • I apparently solved the problem by restarting CCS and then approaching the new software through "Help-Check for new software," which connected properly and went through the process of installing the new software without any glitches.

It appears that the problem only related to my trying to follow the small 'New Software Available' requester which turned up when I started CCS the first time. The small requester led to the download panels but they appear to have failed to find the actual software to download which was found through the 'Help-Check for New software' access.

I don't know what the differences are but when I see the small requester in the future I'll just go to the Help access and see if it works as it just did.

Here is the data on my computer and CCS in case you are trying to find out why the small requester fails to get the software.

    MAC OS Mojave

    Version 10.14.3

Names of 'new' software that could not be located through the small requester:

    ARM Compiler Tools 18.12.2

    MSP430 Compiler Tools 18.12.2

    ...and my CCS Version:

    CCS Version 9.0.1.00004

I'll click 'This Resolved my issue' because my own answer solved it but I still don't know whether the small requester will work properly in the future.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Tuatha,

Thank you for the update and I'm glad to hear that you were able to install the compiler tools using the Install New Software menu item.

I think there might be some issue with this specific update because I currently do not see the 18.12.2 version of the compiler tools available through the update site. It may be that it was temporarily taken down for some reason. However, in general both the Install New Software and Check for Updates menu items should work the same way. If you continue to have trouble with it in the future for other updates, please let us know.
