CCS/TMS320F280049C: how to complier/build a single file, not a completed project, with CCS9?

Customer is asking how to complier/build a single file with CCS 9, since it takes a long time a complier a completed project every time when something changed. He said that it is possible to do it with CCS 3.3. How about CCS 9?
