Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

Hello,

I am using CCS v3.3.

My client has been asking for a tool qualification evidence for CCS v3.3.

I have searched for that. TI seems not to give any qualification evidence. Is it correct?

In CCS community, TI mentioned about compiler qualification.

If the tool qualification for CCS v3.3 is not given, can I get any qualification evidence of compiler for CCS v3.3?

    TI does not qualify any compiler to safety standards.  Instead, TI provides a qualification kit which assists customers in performing that task.  This kit is not available for all compilers.  At this time, the only compilers supported are the TI ARM compiler, and the C2000 compiler.  Even then, support is limited to recent versions of those compilers.  Unfortunately, the compilers released with CCS v3.3 are over 10 years old, and are not among the versions supported by the qualification kit.

    And then, other questions about tool qualification as follows:

    1. Does TI have any plan for the C6000 compiler qualification?

    2. In order to get a compiler qualification kit, a contract for that shall be done, right? How much is it roughly?

    We have a compiler qualification kit available for C6000 version 7.4.x but do not have it listed yet on the SafeTI compiler qkit tool folder.

    What version of the C6000 compiler are you needing to qualify?

    The version of C6000 Code Generation Tool for CCS V3.3 is v6.0.8.

    Shinwoo,

    We will only be providing compiler qualification kits for releases including 7.4.x and more recent (ie 8.x).

    And then, Can I get the certificate of CGT 7.4.x for C6000?(not full qualification kit)

    The image file of it will be fine.

    I hope to identify a example of CGT certificate.

    And then, I can explain the example of tool qualification kit for C6000 that TI provides.

    Shinwoo,

    We provide a qualification kit approach and not a certification approach.  There is no certificate, however, the same TUV assessment is included in any of our QKIT's. 

    Please request either of the free QKIT's on our tool folder (C28 and ARM).  Install and you will find the TUV report in the install folder:  qkit\ComplianceReports
