Whether MSP-EXP430G2 LaunchPad (includes a pre-programmed MSP430G2553 device) compatible with CCS version 6.1.2 which includes Grace 3.10 & it will support MSP430G2231 also for CCS version 6.1.2 which includes Grace 3.10? At present in quick start guide it is stated that it supports CCS version 4 for both MCUs MSP430G2553 & MSP430G2231 (and it is working).

    Assuming that MSP430G2231 is electrically compatible with MSP-EXP430G2
    just try create an empty MSP430G2231 project under CCS v6.1.2.

    MSP430G2231 should be supported by CCSv6.1.2. As Tomasz mentioned you can try to create an empty project to confirm this. If it does not show up I would run a check for updates and install the latest MSP430 updates.

    Note that I would not recommend using Grace. The tool has not been updated in many years and is not currently supported.
